Fall Creek Township is located right here next to the Mississippi River
Marblehead is located in the northwest corner of Fall Creek Township. The village is located right on Illinois Route 57 which runs south from Quincy to connect with Highway 172.
Marblehead has earned the name “Lake Marblehead” because it is prone to flooding. Mill Creek runs right through the village and continues to the Mississippi River. When the Mississippi floods or if there are heavy rains in the area that drains into Mill Creek, then high water is the norm.
Marblehead is very close to the city of Quincy’s southside and many residents that live there travel to Quincy to work.
