Richfield IL is east of Payson on County Road 400 N in Richfield Township. Richfield Township during the last Census in 2010 counted 411 residents in the entire Township.
Richfield sits in a patchwork of corn, soybean fields and wooded areas. Great deer hunting around there.
According to the history of Adams County the Township was first settled in 1828 by a Jacob Franks and A.N. Pendrod. Richfield had a more prosperous past in the 19th century. The nearest town of any size if Payson. Then there is Liberty to the north and Plainville to the southwest.
